Description of Works

The Rivierstaete building is a 10 story (including plant rooms) structure which was constructed in the early 1970’s.

The building stands at 36000m2 and was in use until 2012, as the largest office space structure in Europe.

Vastint (InterIkea) purchased the property 2014 with plans to retain the structure but completely remodel the internal and external elements.

HDR were contracted as principal contractor By Vastint BV to carry out the internal demolition of all non-structural elements and the removal of all asbestos containing materials.

The project was challenging due to the tight programme and the added complication that both Dutch and UK legislation had to be adhered to.
